After having installed the remaining engine control cable firewall shields I checked the forward cabin cover for any interference with the firewall shield nut plates and screws. I found some interference and had to provide some relief notches. Once I had taken care of the interference I installed the forward cabin cover for good. My brother Bernie came by so we began planning the positioning of the registration marks and horizontal paint stripe. Once we were satisfied that the position of the registration mark met regulatory requirements and the horizontal accent stripe looked aesthetically correct in relation to the registration mark we turned to fitting the canopy. Althought the canopy had been previously installed we found some latching issues and had to spend some time carrying out iterations to address the issues. Also there was some mismatch along the canopy forward edge so we taped off an area and leveled it with some micro. Once the micro was curing we began rigging a tail support to fit onto the painting fixture. We called it a day shortly there after.
